Miller Wash Associates is a limited liability partnership with offices in Basepoint Business Centre, Ipswich. The firm offers a variety of services including audit, accountancy, taxation and advisory support to a wide range of owner managed businesses, with a particular focus on the not for profit sector. This includes charities, social enterprises, community interest companies and independent schools.
Our aim is for Miller Wash to be the provider of choice to the voluntary sector and
to see the voluntary sector thrive as it receives the top quality, affordable service it deserves.

With twenty five years experience as a partner in top ten national accountancy practices, Colin has a wealth of experience in dealing with owner managed businesses and not
for profit organisations.
Colin is an enthusiastic and hands on adviser who loves to immerse himself in assisting his clients with all aspects of business advice.
Over the last ten years Colin has specialised in the charities and education sector. During this time he has acted for a variety of charities from Top 100 organisations to small local based entities. Whilst providing audit services, governance reviews, trustee training etc, the experience which Colin has gained through working closely with his charity clients, also means that he can advise more operationally on fundraising and service provision. Recently Colin has assisted several clients to set up trading subsidiary companies and with the outlook for the sector continuing to be difficult, he anticipates this will have an important role to play within the industry moving forward.
Colin’s unfailing enthusiasm towards his clients often leads them to describe him as ’not like an accountant’. He takes this as a compliment!

Cara Miller is a qualified accountant and before creating Miller Wash Associates LLP with Colin, spent 13 years with Baker Tilly Chartered Accountants. Cara is a worldwide gold medal winner for the ACCA examinations and for the past 6 years has specialised in working with the not for profit sector, supplying audit, assurance, governance and taxation advisory services to a number of local and national organisations.
Cara is passionate about the voluntary sector and is currently studying for the
Diploma in Charity Accounting and Financial Management to enhance the service offering she can provide. This qualification addresses broader subjects than purely accounting such as marketing and fundraising, resource management, strategy and governance to name a few!
Cara has recently undertaken a pro bono secondment to lead a community engagement project between The Suffolk Foundation and Suffolk Chamber of Commerce working with local businesses and not for profit organisations to raise awareness and develop an understanding as to how these two sectors can help one another.
Cara also enjoys a number of governance roles within the voluntary sector including Trustee roles with Healthy Ambitions Suffolk and Workwise.
